I was quite surprised myself! This site was at approximately 9200 ft. in elevation and the day I was there it was a bit chilly. I'm guessing the cold weather slowed these little guys down. They were also quite 'occupied' with each other so that might have had diverted their attention! Thanks so much for you comment!

ReplyDeleteWe just spent the weekend with hundreds of these moths. Any idea what they're called?
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure they are police-car moths (Gnophaela vermiculata). Beautiful critters!
